Reporting from Pittsburgh, a large round of cuts is quite apparent today. As lockers have been cleaned out, and the final team takes shape.
The following players have been released from their team USA tryout. Some will inevitably make their way to Tallahassee for the last bit of Team North America camp
C/LW John Beecher / TWF / 73 / 21 / USA
C John Farinacci TWF 73 (21) USA
C Jack Drury TWF 73 (22) - USA
C/LW Antonio Stranges SNP 65 (20) USA
LW Jacob Perrault TWF 72 (20) CAN/USA
LW Cutter Gauthier PWF 67 (18) USA
RW Matt Coronato SNP 73 (19) USA
LD Mattias Samuelsson DFD 73 (22) USA
LD Jackson Lacombe 71 (21) USA
RD Brock Faber TWD 70 (20) - USA
Here’s how the starting 6 for are shaking out
C/RW Maddox Fleming PLY 75 (18) Seattle Spitfires GM
A late add to last season. He brought some jump to their 4th line and helped them win it all. A year later and he is the 1st line C for a Team USA looking for Gold.
RW Tyler Boucher TWF 75 (19) Dinamo Riga GM
Looking to build on a strong performance last year. Boucher is now a first line guy. He will bring his premier passing to team USA again. Gotta wonder if this line is a bit lacking in the finish dept. though.
C/LW Cole Sillinger TWF 74 (19) Traktor Chelyabinsk GM
Big promotion for Sillinger this season, going from 3rd to 4th. Will be relied upon heavy to put the puck in the net for this top line, as both Fleming / Boucher are more of playmakers. Brink and Colangelo floundered in this role last season. Will be interesting to see if Cole can catch fire
LD Cam York OFD 76 (21) Texas Rattlesnakes GM
RD Vinny Borgesi OFD 75 (18) Iceland Crazy Vikings GM
The 2nd pairing that helped win Bronze last year, is now the 1st pairing. continue to be well represented on the back end. With top D expected on 4 teams. Both these guys look to have a strong tournament that propels them to NHL ice next season
G Gibson Homer HYB 74 (18) Brampton Thunder GM
Named the starter last season as a eligible prospect, Homer is back. With an NHL training camp under his belt, he will look to take the next step. With a team set up for good things, could be a huge tournament for Homer. But there is a Wolf waiting in the wings …
