just curious what guys thoughts are on trading. i have a block of really good players that nobody wants or they offer way below market value for them. why? is the league flooded with good players? cap too low? too early in the reboot? guys too lazy to negotiate? just wondering what the problem is. its been pretty frustrating. has anyone else noticed this or is it just me? my goalie is top 5 in the league on an absolute stinker of a team yet not a single offer on him.

I think it might be too early in the era. Teams just drafted all the players they wanted to build around. So they want to see how that team does. The teams that won right away don't want to change it too much. Teams like you and me that fell out of the gate, want to shed and rebuild. The flow of things will probably get better after season 1...especially if the cap goes up. Personal preferences play a hand in things as well for me personally. If I don't like a player, be it irl or had them in past sims, I don't usually want them on my team.

It’s just too early. And the way this system works I think being patient with young guys and trying different combos really pays off.

Honestly, I haven’t offered a lot to people right now because I just don’t have deals that make sense to both parties. I’ve tried a couple here and there, but it’s tough. It’s pretty balanced out there. People need a surplus of something to be able to fill a hole without creating just another issue. I actually think you’ll see some trade pick up right after WJC upgrades drop. And again this offseason when the main ones happen, couple teams get the Rebuild points etc


Another thing to consider, we just have better GMs now all around. Everyone’s been through it, and the new guys coming in now aren’t making the crazy trades that used to kinda flood the early goings. So I don’t really see this as an issue really. Just part of the process

On Markstrom specifically, idk. I’m still trying to figure exactly how the goaltending is gonna be this game. Seems more consistent, but I think other people might be just still weary. Such a crap shoot last couple games :/
