Press Conference With Tokyo Dream Monkeys GM Max Brown on the teams slow start
Tokyo GM was faced with some difficult questions post the Monkeys 7th straight loss giving them an 0-7 record.
"Max, is there any explanation for the teams 7 game loss streak" Reporter 1
"I think it’s obvious what the problem is - we can’t score any goals. Our offensive production just hasn’t been where it needs to be to consistently win hockey games. No matter what we do in other areas, it’s impossible to win in this league while only scoring a goal a night, if even that." TOK GM Max Brown
"Not having your first where does TOK planning on going at the TDL selling, buying, staying stale?" Reporter 2
"Maybe you’d think not having our first would tie my hands, but that’s not going to change the way I operate throughout the season. When it comes to the Deadline specifically it’s really still way too early to really confidently say what’s going to happen that far into the future, but I’m confident the team will have turned itself around by that time." TOK GM Max Brown
"Looking at recent struggles any chance Roman Josi gets moved being he is 35 years old now??" Reporter 3
"What happens with Roman is really up to him. He signed here as a Free Agent, and has won back to back Norris Trophies since, he’s given it all for our franchise. We definitely want Roman here in Tokyo, but if PR informs us that maybe he’d like to go somewhere else then we’ll do our best to be accommodating." TOK GM Max Brown
"Could Mackenzie Blackwood, William Nylander, or Pierre-Luc Dubois be moved at the TDL?" Reporter 4
"Those guys are our core, if we’re going to get out of this slump to start the year it’s going to need to start with them. We have the right pieces to be a winning club, but right now it’s about finding a way to complete the puzzle." TOK GM Max Brown
Tokyo has only 4 Goals in a total of 7 games leading them to an 0-7 record. The Dream Monkeys are without there 2025 1st round which was traded to Israel. Tokyo's GM is confident in his club and core and believes they are still a winning club. He does not have many intentions on moving any core pieces out including Roman Josi unless he where to request a trade.
