How AHL Taxi / World Jrs Works Discussion

I’ve had a couple messages asking questions about this, so I figured Id just start a thread to explain it some more. It’s in the rules section, but maybe it’s vague


So here’s another explanation on how growth / AHL Taxi / World Juniors is gonna work


Players on your taxi squad WILL NOT get any performance boosts UNLESS you play them 30 games in NHL, OR you nominate them to World Jrs Tournament (when the time comes) AND they make the team.


The Juniors / Europe portion of your roster is for players who will NOT be playing NHL this season. You CAN still nominate these players to the World Jr Tournament. If they make the team, they will be eligible for performance bonuses. If they DO NOT make the team, they will get a RNG. ( random number generated boost 1-3) With plus 1 and 2 being way more likely than a 3



Juniors / Europe section is for players aged up to 22



Each team will get 6 nominations for World Jrs. The age cut off is 23 for Skaters and 24 for Goalies

Priority for making the team will be given to players aging out, and draft eligible prospects from the upcoming year. Take that into account.

If you’ve got guys in the high 70s, World Jr Tournament probably isn’t the best place to play them if you want them to grow.

Guys are gonna top out at 80, MAYBE, 81, just like AHL at Rockem.

Question, for those guys on the Uber/Lyft squad, will there be an option to APU them?

Are APU's a thing here or no?

If I’m being honest, I’ve been really indecisive on MPU/APU.

I wanted to ditch it completely. Most of the admins/mods agree that it’s really unrealistic, so the original plan was to not have it. However, I realize a lot is different here, and I know MPU/APU is pretty popular. I think the performance upgrades will be adequate enough, but this is new. So I kinda wanted to reserve the right to make that decision until after the first World Jr tournament.

I just want to see what the upgrades are gonna look like. I’ve run through a couple tests, but it’s not the same as actually having you guys go through it.

I know most of you guys kinda plan things out, so as of right now plan on there not being any, and be pleasantly surprised if it makes an appearance in some fashion. Most likely it will be APU only, if at all

I think having APU at least makes sense since not everybody will be able to play in the tournament. There’s some guys that take longer to develop into NHL guys

I'm about it. I find by season 3-4 the leagues become too saturated with ratings. Guys who are mid 80's end up being left out of FA and end up signing for cheap because they're just 4th liners at that point.

Given we have less teams and some good FA's still, it makes sense.

Good change of pace.
