So, real question here. Do we allow trading something for nothing in this league? No, we don’t. The way I see this, the real problem here is that  put (nothing) lol Guys like Pageau go on waivers and don’t get claimed all the time around here. Alexandrov was the least of the throwins I could see being given here Having said that, the rule on Futures is a little vague. But basically you just have to finish up the transaction by that upcoming Trade Deadline, or the beginning or the next season. Which ever is first. If you don’t come to terms, you lose it and get nothing. Halifax seems to just be accepting that’s what’s gonna happen. But for optics reasons, it really would’ve been better if you hadn’t put that Burnaby Billionaires GM . We allowed futures because sometimes a 2nd feels like too much, and sometimes you don’t have that throwaway prospect on hand. Wouldn’t want to hold people up from being able to moves over something small they couldn’t hammer out So, no we don’t allow trades for nothing. But that isn’t what’s really intended here. If it hadn’t said (nothing), and just said Futures. And that time frame elapsed, I don’t think people would be tagging this asking what happened |
