To G Tuuka Rask HYB 90 (34) 10M UFA 2022 - retains 4M To LW/C Alexandre Texier TWF 82 (21) 2.0M RFA 2023 2022 2nd RD Would’ve preferred sending Rask out West, but opportunity to bring in Texier was enough to take the chance Good luck Tuuka, just not too much Canes435

Yup I accept. As Rask is in the minors I have some time to figure out my cap situation

Would he not have to clear waivers again? I think only if he wants to call him up right? Anyone know the actual rule?

Pretty sure they have to go through waivers again, not sure the rule IRL but thats what happens in franchise mode for any guy with a 1 way contract.

It seems a little convoluted irl. Was having a hard time finding this exact rule, but it does say once a player clears, they don’t have to clear again to be sent down unless they played more than 10 games, or until the next season “ When a player clears waivers and is sent down and then is called up again, he does not have to clear waivers to be sent down again unless he has played ten games or has been "up" for 30 days.[4]” So I think he could just send him right back without waivers? It’s up to you guys. If you guys think he should clear again, we’ll probably rework it. was operating under the assumption he’d have time to clear some cap space

Yes he would be fine with him staying down, the only issue is if he tries to bring him up. When he tries to bring him up he will have to clear waivers

We don’t really do re-entry waivers, I’m not against it, just haven’t done it
I was kinda operating under the procedure of, every season your waiver eligible guys need to clear. Once they clear, it’s basically minor league transaction if you trade them. Once the new team acquired the player and calls them up, they would need to clear again to be sent down. But they’d be allowed to stay in the minors until then because they already cleared that season

I believe IRL they can be called up within 30 days w/o waivers

There are no re-entry waivers anymore - If Rask was in the minors, he can stay. If he was waived, then put back in the NHL for '30 days' or played for a month, he would need to go back on waivers to be sent down again

This is final Canes435 You can keep him in AHL with that hit, but once you bring him up, he’s gotta clear again

Yeah. You’re all good. You have time to clear space, and can call him up without losing him. But if you want to send him back, he has to go through again
