Gotta be honest man, I don’t think I’ve ever logged in once and seen you say something positive about ANYTHING we do I get it. You hate it all, and it’s all a joke to you. Literally everything Ive tried to do you just kinda shit on. If you still have no clue about the direction of this league after this season, then I'm not sure explaining it to you here will help since its already been made clear. Your activity is damn appreciated, it makes things worth it when members are invested as much as you, however gratitude and respect are a two way street; you can't constantly be on one end of it. |

And I’ve said this before, but I absolutely appreciate everything you do for this site. We wouldn’t be here without you stepping up, because I never would’ve made it through S1 of Rockem. That’s a fact. So again thank you. I’ve apologized to you before for keeping you out of loop sometimes. But I thought we came to a resolution on that? This job is hard. I’m not complaining. I love it. But sometimes I struggle with trying to keep things a surprise vs being fully transparent. You guys can say all day long that you’d prefer everything to be out in the open, but some surprises are good and help overall excitement and activity. I’m still finding my groove with that. I can be light on details when I’m still working things out. And even though it’s been pretty consistent, my schedule at home isn’t always. So when you don’t know something, it’s probably because I don’t even know. And rather than sending you updates every second of the way, I just let you get to shit when you get to it. I trust you at this point with stuff on here, and I’d hope I’ve gained a tiny bit of trust from most of you guys in regards to you know I’m just trying my best to have a system that works for everyone I take a bit of exception with you saying this system ends up with the best teams being the best and people are quiting over it. Uhhh, what league have you been in? We’ve had one of the lowest turnovers I’ve seen other than HLS reboot. The same 3 teams have been open this whole time pretty much so I don’t know where that’s coming from. The top 4 teams in terms of roster OAs and probably overall points have been TSE, TAL, MAD, and DRG. I can bet you they’d completely disagree with what you’re saying Sometimes I talk with other admin/mod so much about certain things, maybe I can take for granted how much I’ve communicated to the entire league. So if that’s the case, I apologize. But I know for a fact I’ve told this through PM to you, but here’s the info again The reboot is coming after this season World Cup was a 1 time thing. Maybe it makes an appearance at the END of the Reboot. I LIKE IT. I have fun with it. The Reboot will have a Fantasy Draft The Reboot will be awesome Again, there will be a thread with more info when the time comes. But that’s really all you need to know right now. It will be the same format as this, but like all good reboots will have a couple tweaks. Nothing Earth shattering. The main thing that matters is the admin mod team here is staying the same, the format is staying the same. How much more info do you need? And always critiques and suggestions, questions and complaints are welcome. But maybe be more constructive and consistent. There’s nothing worse than spending 8 hours working on something than to login and see someone who is supposed to be on Team PS5HL calling it joke |

I do honestly get what Cooker's saying though. Some of us long time vets don't get the respect we deserve a lot of the time because we don't agree certain things or practices on the sites anymore cuz we've seen them work, or not work over the course of the last 18-20 years. Yet, a majority of the time, we're met with ridicule, "millennial-splaining", or, our personal favorite, "They do it IRL, so it's perfectly fine.". 🙄 Well, no it's not, cuz this isn't real life; it's a sim league. We don't have collective bargaining cuz our players aren't ever going to strike or get locked out. 🤷 The only time we're ever out if commission for any extended period of time is for a reboot. It's also a rarity, at least for myself, that anyone will help you out unless they're screwing you over somehow.
Say I need to drop some cap, and I make certain players available for that... but that's not the player's we get offers on, or it's "I'll take this guy, but you have to give me your best prospect(s) & a 2nd for taking on his salary.". Effectively trying to bully us into a trade cuz we're allegedly "desperate". Fuck off... 🙄 None of us are looking to gut our teams, yet that's the only offers, and trades, we seem to see lately; 3 1sts for 1 player, or "future considerations", like they ever have to pay up for that; in most cases they won't or don't.
That's just an example, and it's not everybody, but it is a majority, so Cooker isn't too far off the mark with his assertion that there's a lack of respect coming from you young'uns towards us old farts. It works both ways, but if we're not feeling respected, we're not going to respect you much either. Your own condescending & "I'm holier than thou" attitudes towards a lot this stuff is a big reason why us older guys become more vocal about things, and it comes across as more as complaining cuz we're already being disrespected just for even speaking a lot of the time, when we're already frustrated with something.

The lack of respect you’re talking about plays out in your head. But it’s definitely starting to become a reality on my end. We’re less than a week removed from you calling out everyone for not following the rules on World Cup when it’s pretty obvious it was you not paying attention. You can pretty much apply to that to most of your posts these days, attempting to make some unknown point that has either already been dealt with, or again comes from your lack of paying attention to the rules. It’s a bit comical, because this discussion before you showed up was also a bit about Cook not paying attention to numerous posts/talks/PMs about reboot. So in that way, they’re related Just because something comes up again, or a completely different issue comes up doesn’t somehow make your initial argument any better or more valid. You have trouble making trades? Maybe your assets suck. Have trouble dropping cap when EVERYONE knows you’re over and don’t have options? Ask your boy Dubas about Marleau. You’re in the compete (single?) minority on this, and pretty much everything else you’ve complained about. 90% of your problems could be solved by READING, PAYING ATTENTION, and not making threads that make it look like you’re incompetent Holier than thou? Are you fucking kidding me right now? This coming from the guy who thinks EVERYONE is clueless but him? From the guy who thought Pasta could play for Canada? From the guy who said you couldn’t double retain irl? From the guy who showed up at the Fantasy Draft completely fucking lost and who didn’t read a thing? If you fuck up your cap situation why is anybody inclined to help you out and take on a shitty contract for nothing in return? Cap space is just as valuable as any other asset on a roster. Look at the Hawks with Bickell, they had to trade Teravainen to get rid of his cap. The Leafs had to trade a 1st to get rid of Marleau. The Knights have traded Fleury and Pacioretty for nothing because they needed the cap space. The Sens had to add picks and retain to trade Murray, the Oilers gave up a 2nd and a 3rd to trade Kassian away. If you can't handle your cap that's your problem, nobody elses. I'll help you out of your situation but I damn well want something in return outside of the 80 overall plug making 3M more than he should be. |
