League handed a good team to Vegas Both put players on LTIR to get under the cap until the end of the season when they were magically healthy enough to play and shockingly no cap in the playoffs. I could care less who wins the cup, but I do believe that there should be rules like keeping the cap through the playoffs. |

Vegas’ Cup has a giant fat asterisk next to it League didn’t force Florida to literally give away Marchy + Smith in order to protect Pysyk. I think, at the time, there was good depth of talent in the league that allowed Vegas to get a great team right away. |

I hate Vegas.
But I’ll give them credit. It wasn’t just the expansion draft.
They traded for Stone for peanuts. Signed Pietrangelo to that deal which people thought was too much. Traded for Eichel.
I personally didn’t think it was gonna work out. I thought Eichel was gonna get injured again and never get to play a full season. So what do I know?
It was nice at least to see Quick and Martinez get another cup
