RANKINGS
#1 - LW Mischa Cibisov SNP 5'11 171lbs (L) GER
WJC - ***WOR W - 52GP 25G 18A 43PTS +9 - MVP RUNNER-UP/2ND LEAGUE PTS/1ST LEAGUE G/1ST LEAGUE TK
Cibisov is the 1st overall ranked pick in this draft. Playing in both WJC tournament, Cibisov undoubtedly proved he is worth the first pick after registering the most goals and finishing 2nd in MVP voting. The gifted winger has all the intangibles to become a franchise player in the league. His shot first mentality is one teams will be in awe of for years to come. Cibisov will be a game breaker for any team that is lucky to have him.
Ceiling - Mike Bossy
Floor - Jeff Skinner
Potential - High Elite

#2 - C Jayden Pominville TWF 6'1 191LBS (L) USA
WJC - ***DRT - 52GP 17G 20A 37PTS -12 - 7TH LEAGUE G
Pominville barely squeaks by to earn the 2nd overall ranked pick in this draft. Showcasing his talents in the last two WJC, he was able to maintain his second overall ranking while also showing his scoring touch. A two-way skill that can be utilized in all situations of a game is what makes him stand out the most. Pominville has all the tools to be a 1C in his future for any team that is lacking one.
Ceiling - Anze Kopitar
Floor - Jordan Staal

#3 - LD Otto Puhakka DFD 6'4 204lbs (L) FIN
WJC - ***FIN - 52GP 7G 11A 18PTS +5 - 3RD LEAGUE HITS/1ST LEAGUE D HITS/1ST LEAGUE D TK
Puhakka is the front runner for best Defensemen this draft. The huge DFD played in both WJC and was able to vault his way into the top 3 rankings. The physical aspects he brings to a team, whether it be throwing his body, protecting the net, or being a corner stone of a successful PK, is what makes him so valuable. Puhakka can be a defensive leader on any team that wants to take a chance on a more defensive prospect.
Ceiling - Zdeno Chara
Floor - Wade Redden
Potential - MED Elite

#4 - RW Bo Skelton PLY 5'6 160lbs (R) USA
WJC - ***TNA - 52GP 13G 27A 40PTS +2 - T-7TH IN LEAGUE PTS/5TH LEAGUE A
Skelton can make a case for being slightly higher than his consensus 4th overall ranking. Having played in the last two WJC, he just kept getting better. The biggest reason he isn’t higher is due to his small frame. However, he finds a way to use it to his advantage adding speed, high playing IQ and a pass first mentality that makes all his lines mates better. Skelton is the the type of player that will soar or sink when it comes to the professional game.
Ceiling - Marcel Dionne
Floor - Mats Zuccarello
Potential - MED Elite
NHL ETA - NOW/1 year
#5 - LW Niko Fatyka SNP 5'11 177lbs (L) GER/SVK
WJC - ***SVK - 52GP 16G 21A 37PTS -6 - T-8TH LEAGUE G
Fatyka came into his draft year with high expectations but failed to fully meet them. Having played in back to back WJC, Fatyka helped lead SVK to the WJC Gold Medal game, falling short to win Silver. While he still maintained an impressive production for his age group, scouts are left scratching their head with his NHL projection. It’s safe to say he will become a regular scorer in the league, it’s just a matter of consistency. Fatyka is a high reward kinda pick, with very little downside, yet caution is warranted for any team taking him.
Ceiling - Pavel Bure
Floor - Tomas Tartar
Potential - MED Elite
NHL ETA - NOW/1 year
#6 - RD Christopher Pinko TWD 5'11 172lbs (R) USA
WJC - ***USA - 52GP 3G 22A 25PTS +9 - T-6TH LEAGUE D A/T-6TH LEAGUE D BKS
Pinko is the best all around Defenseman this draft. The slick puck moving Dman is responsible in both ends of the ice, with a flair for offense. Being under 6 feet may prove challenging, yet his high hockey IQ is what separates him from average defenders. Pinko can run a power play or a penalty kill, he will be a great add for any team and has potential to be a captain at some point.
Ceiling - Jared Spurgeon
Floor - Anton Stralman
Potential - MED Elite
NHL ETA - NOW/1 year?
#7 - RW Hugo Altörn SNP 5'11 189lbs (R) SWE
WJC - DRT - 52GP 11G 23A 34PTS -8
Altorn is ranked exactly where scouts expected him to be. The silky Swede comes with a bit of bite and unwillingness to waiver when times get tough. The shot he posses is great for any finisher, yet he seems to be fine with setting up his teammates just as much. Altorn will be a solid top 6 winger that will always show up to play hard.
Ceiling - Milan Hejduk
Floor - Gustav Nyquist
Potential - HIGH TOP 6
NHL ETA - 1 year
#8 - RD Nikita Mühlbeier OFD 6'2 197lbs (R) GER
WJC - WOR W - 52GP 10G 21A 31PTS +10 - T-1ST LEAGUE D PTS/T-8TH LEAGUE D A/T-1ST LEAGUE D G
Mühlbeier made the use of his WJC tournament to vault into the top 10 final rankings. Scouts have determined he is the best offensively minded Defensemen this draft. His ability to run the power play is a momentum swinger, and his use of his edges while skating with the puck through the zone enables him to quickly create separation very few players can achieve. Leading the league in PTS for a D and being tied for Dmen G really puts a spot light on him. Mühlbeier has the potential to be one of the better OFD in the league with the right system and partner.
Ceiling - Börje Salming
Floor - Evan Bouchard
Potential - LOW ELITE
NHL ETA - 1 year
#9 - RW Neo Björklund SNP 6'2 195lbs (R) SWE
WJC - DRT - 52GP 12G 22A 34PTS -3
Bjorklund is a promising prospect that has exceeded expectations to land himself in the top 10 of the Final Draft Rankings. The solid scoring winger utilizes his size and strength to will himself to the net to either finish a play himself or get open for teammates. His scoring touch will only get better as he develops to the North American ice, yet it shouldn’t be downplayed how highly attuned his offensive decision making is. Bjorklund is a lock to become a reliable top 6 winger, with an upside to become more than a point per game player.
Ceiling - Joe Nieuwendyk
Floor - Tomas Holmström
Potential - HIGH TOP 6
NHL ETA - 1 year
#10 - LD Mateo Ferreira TWD 6'2 200lbs (L) CAN
WJC - CAN W - 52GP 3G 21A 24PTS -1 - T-8TH LEAGUE A
Ferreira is the most low risk, high reward prospect in this years Draft. While coming into the season ranked in the top 5, he managed to play himself out, while still showing he will be able to have a lengthy career as a top 4 Defenseman. The steady hardworking Dman posses an all around ability to always have his presence felt while he’s on the ice. Whether it be leading the breakout, closing a gap in the neutral zone, or simply leading his team in TOI every game. Ferreira dropped from an elite ranking, however, it’s no doubt he will be a reliable two way Defensemen whose game will translate into the elite level.
Ceiling - Jay Bouwmeester
Floor - Alec Martinez
Potential - LOW ELITE
