BUYOUTS / WAIVERS / RETENTIONS




-Teams are allowed to carry 3 ACTIVE SALARY RETENTIONS at ONCE (max retention amount is 50% each contract. An already retained contract can be retained on again, up to 50%, but only in the final year of the contract) Can only make up 15% of the teams CAP 


-Teams are allowed to carry unlimited BUYOUTS at ONCE


-BUYOUTS for players making 1.0M and UNDER do NOT count against the cap


-PLAYERS do NOT have to go through WAIVERS if their CONTRACT is 1.0M or LESS AND they’re rated 80 OA or less

(Ex. C Jason Spezza PLY 81 (38) .900M UFA 2022 would need to clear waivers because of the 81 OA)

(Ex C Vladimir Tkachyov PLY 78 (25) 1.2M UFA 2022 would also need to clear waivers because of the 1.2M)

(Ex RW Matt Luff PWF 76 (24) .800M RFA 2022 No Waivers!)

(Ex RD Julius Honka TWD 80 (25) 1M UFA 2022 No Waivers!)



-PLAYERS 23 YEARS OLD or YOUNGER w/1.75M or LESS - do NOT require WAIVERS to be sent down to MINORS, but 1/3 (33%) of their cap hit DOES count against the cap


-PLAYERS must be WAIVED for BUYOUT. (post "if clears, will be bought out" or "if clears, will go to minors")


- BUYOUTS will carry 1/4 (25%) CAP HIT of their CONTRACT for the DURATION of contract


-WAIVER PERIOD is 24 HOURS

-ANY team may place a claim on a player by posting claim in the thread

-IF a player CLEARS WAIVERS the WAIVING TEAM carries 1/3 (33.33%) of the players salary for the REMAINDER of the CONTRACT


-If multiple CLAIMS are put on a player on WAIVERS , the team that is LOWEST in the CURRENT STANDINGS will take priority

-Once a team has a successful claim they will go the end of the WAIVER CLAIM PRIORITY LIST (regardless of CURRENT STANDINGS)

-Each season players must clear WAIVERS again to be placed in your minor league
