"Quebec City is not a viable hockey market." Those were the words spoken today at the press conference announcing the relocation of the Quebec Nordiques by the former Nordiques Owner.
"We tried to make it work here, but it has become apparent that Quebec City is just not interested in hockey"
The league announced today the sale of the Quebec Nordiques to Chinese businessman "Ji Xingping" has been approved, and the team will immediately be relocating to Beijing for the upcoming Season. The team will be known as the Beijing Ducks.
The new owner, Ji Xingping, who bought the team for an undisclosed amount of money released this statement:
"PS5HL games are exciting to watch and have global appeal. They are very popular in China. I do watch PS5HL games on television when I have time. We are excited to bring common prosperity to the league"
