I traded for Spurgeon with another 25% last TD, but he was already acquired for 50%. The Leafs acquired Foligno at 25% last TD doing this |

My intention here has always been to allow for as much of the irl stuff as feasible. ATL asked me about this last season, and I said I was good with type of trade in theory. I just want to make sure it doesn’t start to get stupid around here with players playing at 25% on every team.
This doesn’t happen a ton irl because there’s actual dollars at play, and someone has to foot the bill. Obviously we have the salary cap, so that limits it to an extent. I’m not gonna reject it on those merits right now. But I really think this specific kinda deal needs to be limited to the trade deadline-ish. Maybe only at the trade pause (feb28th in game, usually a weekend irl for us) as a way to beef up deadline activity?
Let’s see what everyone else thinks. I don’t want this approved until some people actual say how they feel

reject, Toews carries a lot more value than that, especially at 1.65M. To double down on the same player in the same trade lol. Would have to be admins's to even think about pulling that one off. Big time reject on this!!!!

I don’t have an issue with it happening, just don’t like the idea of a whole season at 25% I think we should allow it only on expiring deals, and trades after DEC 1st personally Both the deals that happened before were at the deadline basically |

It’s been done, irl and here. It is allowed, but I just think WE should maybe come up parameters for this type of deal where 50% has been retained by 2 separate teams
It can set a precedence here, so I think it deserves discussion because this is different than what was approved before, I think

I don't see anything wrong with it. I don't think that a contract should go below 25% for the team that gets the player.

No different than a real life league Another potential part of this, Toews started out in ATL at the trade deadline yeah? Couldn’t get re-signed maybe? I don’t know. But now we’re a few months (sim time) later and he’s back but at 25%?  says if they allow it irl, allow it here. Well, irl ATL could be investigated for cap circumvention. I’m not saying that’s what happened, (seriously I don’t think that) but again, that’s why you don’t see these deals like this DEC on expiring contracts makes the most sense |

A trade was posted and is being reviewed. It's a sim league, no one involved in the trade seems to care nearly as much as some within this thread. |
